Historically, electricity production from natural gas sources in Japan reached an all time high of 447,694 GWh in 2014 and an all time low of 100 GWh in 1960. When compared to Japan's main peers, electricity production from natural gas sources in China amounted to 196,188 GWh, 529,852 GWh in Russia, 120,752 GWh in South Korea and 1,368,671 GWh in USA in 2017.
