Erste Group Bank's capital adequacy ratio reached 18.5% at the end of 2017, down from 18.5% when compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s capital ratio hit an all time high of 18.5% in 2016 and an all time low of 9.80% in 2008.

The Tier 1 ratio amounted to 14.0% at the end of 2017, up from 13.4% compared to a year earlier.

Bank's loan to deposit ratio reached 92.5% at the end of 2017, down from 94.7% when compared to the previous year. Some 10 years ago, loan to deposit ratio of the bank amounted to 111%.

When compared to bank's main peers, Raiffeisen Bank International ended the year 2017 with a capital adequacy ratio at 17.8% and loans to deposits of 92.1%, OTP Group with 14.6% and 75.1% respectively and PKO BP some 17.4% in terms of capital adequacy and 94.0% of loans to deposits at the end of 2017.
