Erste Group Bank's capital adequacy ratio reached 18.5% at the end of fourth quarter of 2017, up from 18.0% when compared to the previous quarter. Historically, the bank’s capital ratio hit an all time high of 18.7% in 2Q2017 and an all time low of 9.40% in 3Q2008.
The Tier 1 ratio amounted to 14.0% at the end of fourth quarter of 2017, up from 13.4% compared to the same period of last year and up from 13.4% when compared to the the previous quarter.
Bank's loan to deposit ratio reached 92.5% at the end of 4Q2017, down from 94.7% when compared to the same period of last year. Some 10 years ago, loan to deposit ratio of the bank amounted to 111%.
When compared to bank's main peers, Raiffeisen Bank International ended the fourth quarter of 2017 with a capital adequacy ratio at 17.8% and loans to deposits of 92.1%, OTP Group with 14.6% and 68.4% respectively and PKO BP some 17.4% in terms of capital adequacy and 94.0% of loans to deposits at the end of the fourth quarter of 2017.
