Foreign debt reached 2,156 USD bil in 2016 in Kosovo, according to the National Statistical Office. This is 11.6 % less than in the previous year.

Historically, foreign debt in Kosovo reached an all time high of 2,439 USD bil in 2017 and an all time low of 69.6 USD bil in 2001. When compared to Kosovo's main peers, foreign debt in Albania amounted to 8,341 USD bil, 7,376 USD bil in Macedonia, 2,712 USD bil in Montenegro and 29,527 USD bil in Serbia in 2016.

Kosovo has been ranked 90th within the group of 111 countries we follow in terms of foreign debt, 22 places above the position seen 10 years ago.
