Historically, foreign debt in Ethiopia reached an all time high of USD 28,288 bil in 2019 and an all time low of USD 169 bil in 1970. When compared to Ethiopia's main peers, foreign debt in Eritrea amounted to USD 772 bil, USD 34,217 bil in Kenya, USD 5,616 bil in Somalia and USD 22,264 bil in Sudan in 2019.
