Foreign debt reached 1,415,801 USD bil in 2016 in China, according to the National Statistical Office. This is 17.2 % less than in the previous year.

Historically, foreign debt in China reached an all time high of 1,770,458 USD bil in 2014 and an all time low of 5,798 USD bil in 1981. When compared to China's main peers, foreign debt in India amounted to 455,550 USD bil and 525,650 USD bil in Russia in 2016.
