Foreign debt reached 21,371 USD bil in 2016 in Ghana, according to the National Statistical Office. This is 2.96 % less than in the previous year.

Historically, foreign debt in Ghana reached an all time high of 22,022 USD bil in 2017 and an all time low of 542 USD bil in 1971. When compared to Ghana's main peers, foreign debt in Benin amounted to 2,316 USD bil, 11,534 USD bil in Ivory Coast and 1,176 USD bil in Togo in 2016.
