Foreign debt reached 8,844 USD bil in 2016 in Zimbabwe, according to the National Statistical Office. This is 5.21 % less than in the previous year.

Historically, foreign debt in Zimbabwe reached an all time high of 9,330 USD bil in 2017 and an all time low of 144 USD bil in 1976. When compared to Zimbabwe's main peers, foreign debt in Botswana amounted to 2,100 USD bil, 10,705 USD bil in Mozambique, 146,041 USD bil in South Africa and 15,529 USD bil in Zambia in 2016.
