Foreign direct investments as a share of GDP reached 0.500 % in 2017 in Cyprus, according to the National Statistical Office. This is 24.2 % more than in the previous year.

Historically, foreign direct investments as a share of GDP in Cyprus reached an all time high of 1.98 % in 2012 and an all time low of -0.435 % in 2011. When compared to Cyprus's main peers, foreign direct investments as a share of GDP in Egypt amounted to 0.031 %, 0.018 % in Greece, 0.051 % in Israel and 0.013 % in Turkey in 2017.
