Historically, foreign trade as a share of GDP in Slovenia reached an all time high of 161% in 2018 and an all time low of 92.5% in 1999. When compared to Slovenia's main peers, foreign trade as a share of GDP in Austria amounted to 101%, 90.6% in Croatia, 157% in Hungary and 55.3% in Italy in 2020.
