Foreign trade as a share of GDP rose 3.01% to 134% in Cyprus in 2017, according to the National Statistical Office.

Historically, foreign trade as a share of GDP in Cyprus reached an all time high of 141% in 1996 and an all time low of 92.2% in 1975. When compared to Cyprus's main peers, foreign trade as a share of GDP in Egypt amounted to 45.1%, 67.0% in Greece, 56.8% in Israel and 54.1% in Turkey in 2017.
