Foreign trade as a share of GDP reached 132 % in 2017 in Cyprus, according to the National Statistical Office. This is 1.08 % more than in the previous year.

Historically, foreign trade as a share of GDP in Cyprus reached an all time high of 141 % in 1996 and an all time low of 92.2 % in 1975. When compared to Cyprus's main peers, foreign trade as a share of GDP in Egypt amounted to 44.8 %, 67.5 % in Greece and 54.2 % in Turkey in 2017.
