Foreign trade as a share of GDP rose 4.64% to 159% in Congo in 2017, according to the National Statistical Office.

Historically, foreign trade as a share of GDP in Congo reached an all time high of 166% in 2015 and an all time low of 57.1% in 1992. When compared to Congo's main peers, foreign trade as a share of GDP in Cameroon amounted to 41.2%, 44.3% in Central African Republic, 75.1% in Gabon and 75.0% in Dem. Republic of the Congo in 2017.
