Foreign trade as a share of GDP rose 3.56% to 46.9% in Peru in 2017, according to the National Statistical Office.

Historically, foreign trade as a share of GDP in Peru reached an all time high of 58.4% in 2008 and an all time low of 22.5% in 1989. When compared to Peru's main peers, foreign trade as a share of GDP in Bolivia amounted to 56.7%, 24.1% in Brazil, 55.7% in Chile and 34.3% in Colombia in 2017.
