Foreign trade in services as a share of GDP reached 28.7 % in 2016 in Kuwait, according to the National Statistical Office. This is 3.12 % more than in the previous year.

Historically, foreign trade in services as a share of GDP in Kuwait reached an all time high of 55.2 % in 1991 and an all time low of 10.6 % in 1975. When compared to Kuwait's main peers, foreign trade in services as a share of GDP in Bahrain amounted to 57.4 %, 12.1 % in Iraq and 13.6 % in Saudi Arabia in 2016.
