Historically, gross school enrollment of females in primary education in China reached an all time high of 121% in 1989 and an all time low of 98.9% in 1974. When compared to China's main peers, gross school enrollment of females in primary education in India amounted to 124%, 98.4% in Japan, 102% in Russia and 101% in USA in 2016.
China has been ranked 83rd within the group of 145 countries we follow in terms of gross school enrollment of females in primary education, 40 places below the position seen 10 years ago.
