We estimate Philip Morris Czech Republic sold 27,691 mil cigarettes in 2019, up 5.04% when compared to the previous year. Historically, the company sold most of its cigarettes in 2014 (33,274 mil) and the minimum in 1993 when 17,400 mil pieces have been shipped. Overall, shipments of cigarettes have been growing by an average 0.335% a year in the last 20 years.

In 2019, some 8,600 mil of cigarettes have been sold on the domestic Czech market. That is up 0.585% when compared to a year earlier. When compared to a decade ago, however, the sales are down 2 mil, or 21.8%. Philip Morris CR held 41.3% of the domestic Czech market in 2019, down 1 pp from a year ago. The average revenue per pack of cigarettes on the domestic market increased by 26.1% to CZK 23.7 in 2019, on our numbers. This is 43.2% more when compared to five years ago and 120% increase when compared to 2009.

In Slovakia, Philip Morris achieved average revenue per pack of cigarettes of CZK 20.6 on our calculation, up 17.2% yoy. This is 53.2% more than five years ago.

We guesstimate that the company made a net profit of CZK 2.90 per pack of cigarettes sold in 2019. That is 114% more than 5 years ago and 66.2% more than a decade ago.
