Imports as a share of GDP rose 3.86% to 0.180% in China in 2017, according to the National Statistical Office.

Historically, imports as a share of GDP in China reached an all time high of 0.284% in 2004 and an all time low of 0.021% in 1971. When compared to China's main peers, imports as a share of GDP in India amounted to 0.220%, 0.167% in Japan, 0.207% in Russia and 0.150% in USA in 2017.
