Provision coverage amounted to 52.7% at the end of 2015-12-31, up from 42.9% compared to a year earlier.
The bank created loan loss provisions worth of 5.66% of average loans in 2015-12-31. That's compared to 6.25% of loans the bank put aside to its cost on average in the last five years.
Comparing Alpha Bank Group with its closest peers, National Bank of Greece operated at the end of 2015-12-31 with NPL ratio of 42.5% and provision coverage of 74.6%, Piraeus Bank Group with 39.5% and 65.0% respectively and Eurobank Group had 33.8% of bad loans covered with 67.4% by provisions at the end of 2015-12-31.
