Historically, the bank’s net interest margin reached an all time high of 3.93% in 2018 and an all time low of 1.84% in 2013. The average margin in the last five years amounted to 2.68%.
Average asset yield was 5.00% in 2018, up from 3.65% when compared to previous year. On the other hand, cost of funding amounted to 1.25% in 2018, up from 1.11%.
Comparing J&T Banka with its closest peers, MONETA Money Bank operated in 2018 with a net interest margin of 3.64% Equa Bank reached 3.20% and Trinity Bank some 2.67%.
The average net interest margin reached 1.80% in the Czech banking sector in 2018 while interest spread amounted to 3.27%.
