Based on a comparison of 18 banks in Poland in 2016, Bank Handlowy operated with the lowest loan to deposit ratio, followed by Getin Holding and Idea Bank.

Bank Handlowy's loan to deposit ratio reached 59.0% at the end of 2016, down from 60.4% when compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s loans to deposits hit an all time high of 153% in 1997 and an all time low of 51.6% in 2010.

Comparing Bank Handlowy with its closest peers, Getin Holding ended the year 2016 with loans to deposits at 65.3%, Idea Bank with 72.1% and Bank Ochrony Srodowiska some 81.6% of loans to deposits at the end of 2016.

Overall, total loans of the Polish banking sector amounted to 78.3% of deposits at the end of 2016.
