Based on a comparison of 10 banks in Romania in 2016, BRD Groupe Societe Generale had the most employees, followed by Banca Transilvania and Banca Commerciala Romana.

BRD Groupe Societe Generale employed 7,605 persons in 2016, down 8.51% when compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank's workforce hit an all time high of 9,502 persons in 2008 and an all time low of 4,258 in 2003.

Average cost reached RON 7,537 per month per month per employee, 14.8% more than a year ago. This figure was RON 5,082 per month some 10 years ago.
