Based on a comparison of 13 banks in Slovakia in 2017, Slovenska Sporitelna generated the largest revenues, followed by VUB Banka and Tatra banka.

Slovenska Sporitelna reported total revenues of EUR 569 mil, down 5.19% compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s revenues containing of interest, fee and other non-interest income reached an all time high of EUR 605 mil in 2015 and an all time low of EUR 73.2 mil in 1999. The average revenue in the last five years amounted to EUR 592 mil.

Comparing Slovenska Sporitelna with its closest peers, VUB Banka generated total revenues of EUR 547 mil, or 3.66% of assets in 2017, Tatra banka operated with EUR 425 mil total income, or 3.40% revenue margin and CSOB Slovakia produced total income worth EUR 289 mil, or 3.13% of assets.

Slovak banking sector generated total revenues of EUR 179,177 mil in 2017, down 0.560% when compared to the previous year. As a result, the top ranked company - Slovenska Sporitelna accounted for 0.317% of the sector’s total income in 2017.
