ING Bank Slaski's non-performing loans reached 2.89% of total loans at the end of 2017, up from 2.73% when compared to the previous year. Historically, the NPL ratio hit an all time high of 26.5% in 2002 and an all time low of 2.08% in 2008.
Provision coverage amounted to 66.7% at the end of 2017, down from 70.5% compared to a year earlier.
The bank created loan loss provisions worth of 0.487% of average loans in 2017. That's compared to 0.445% of loans the bank put aside to its cost on average in the last five years.
When compared to bank's main peers, PKO BP operated at the end of 2017 with NPL ratio of 5.50% and provision coverage of 67.0%, Pekao SA with 5.74% and 66.8% respectively and Bank Zachodni WBK had 5.77% of bad loans covered with 63.1% by provisions at the end of 2017.
