Expenditure of international tourism reached 5,040 USD mil in 2017 in Vietnam, according to Eurostat. This is 12 % more than in the previous year.

Historically, expenditure of international tourism in Vietnam reached an all time high of 5,040 USD mil in 2017 and an all time low of 900 USD mil in 2005. When compared to Vietnam's main peers, expenditure of international tourism in Cambodia amounted to 919 USD mil, 257,733 USD mil in China, 989 USD mil in Laos and 11,579 USD mil in Thailand in 2017.

Vietnam has been ranked 48th within the group of 147 countries we follow in terms of expenditure of international tourism, 20 places above the position seen 10 years ago.

International tourism expenditure is the expenditure of international outbound visitors in other countries, including payments to foreign carriers for international transport.
