Historically, expenditure of international tourism in India reached an all time high of USD 21,856 mil in 2017 and an all time low of USD 913 mil in 1996. When compared to India's main peers, expenditure of international tourism in Bangladesh amounted to USD 1,118 mil, USD 257,733 mil in China, USD 3,223 mil in Pakistan and USD 2,409 mil in Sri Lanka in 2017.
India has been ranked 17th within the group of 145 countries we follow in terms of expenditure of international tourism, 5 places above the position seen 10 years ago.
