Expenditure of international tourism rose 15.3% to USD 618 mil in Mongolia in 2017, according to Eurostat.
Historically, expenditure of international tourism in Mongolia reached an all time high of USD 643 mil in 2013 and an all time low of USD 19.0 mil in 1997. When compared to Mongolia's main peers, expenditure of international tourism in China amounted to USD 257,733 mil, USD 1,886 mil in Kazakhstan, USD 422 mil in Kyrgyzstan and USD 35,585 mil in Russia in 2017.
Mongolia has been ranked 98th within the group of 145 countries we follow in terms of expenditure of international tourism, 21 places above the position seen 10 years ago.
