Historically, expenditure of international tourism in Romania reached an all time high of USD 4,228 mil in 2017 and an all time low of USD 428 mil in 1999. When compared to Romania's main peers, expenditure of international tourism in Bulgaria amounted to USD 2,047 mil, USD 2,975 mil in Hungary, USD 381 mil in Moldova and USD 7,543 mil in Ukraine in 2017.
