Customer deposits decreased 0.674% qoq to CZK 5,855 bil during the second quarter of 2021. This means an annual growth rate of 8.17%, which is above the average growth of 7.60% we have seen in deposits in the last decade.
Households deposits grew 1.82% qoq and 11.3% yoy in the last 12 months and represented 55.1% of total customer deposits at the end of June 2021. Corporate deposits increased by 1.42% qoq (or 10.5% yoy) and made up 21.4% of total while the remaining 23.5% comprised other deposits (to financial and public institutions) compared to 25.5% a year ago.
Overall, Ceska Sporitelna remains the largest deposit collector with a 20.9% market share followed by CSOB (19.8%) and Komercni Banka (17.6%):
The three largest banks held 58.4% of customer deposits at the end of third quarter. When compared to the same period of last year, we estimate that they have gained 0.375% of the market.
