Mortgage loans rose 12.4% yoy to HUF 4,487 mil in Hungary in February 2022, according to the National Central Bank. This is 3.23% less than in the previous month.

Historically, mortgage loans in Hungary reached an all time high of HUF 4,636 mil in January 2022 and an all time low of HUF 2,902 mil in November 2016. When compared to Hungary's main peers, mortgage loans in Austria amounted to EUR 130 mil, CZK 1,615 mil in Czechia, PLN 507 mil in Poland and EUR 38.2 mil in Slovakia in February 2022.
