Historically, number of motor vehicles in the European Union reached an all time high of 303 mil in 2015 and an all time low of 241 mil in 2003. When compared to European Union's main peers, number of motor vehicles in China amounted to 163 mil, 77.4 mil in Japan, 51.4 mil in Russia and 264 mil in USA in 2015.
