Number of prisoners reached 1,399 persons in 2015 in Slovenia, according to the United Nations. This is 8.08 % less than in the previous year.

Historically, number of prisoners in Slovenia reached an all time high of 1,522 persons in 2014 and an all time low of 614 persons in 1996. When compared to Slovenia's main peers, number of prisoners in Croatia amounted to 3,341 persons and 53,410 persons in Italy in 2015.
