OTP Group's non-performing loans reached 9.20% of total loans at the end of 2017, down from 14.7% when compared to the previous year. Historically, the NPL ratio hit an all time high of 19.1% in 2012 and an all time low of 3.37% in 2001.

Provision coverage amounted to 99.3% at the end of 2017, up from 96.8% compared to a year earlier.

The bank created loan loss provisions worth of 0.568% of average loans in 2017. That's compared to 3.28% of loans the bank put aside to its cost on average in the last five years.

When compared to bank's main peers, K&H Bank operated at the end of 2017 with NPL ratio of 5.17% and provision coverage of 47.3% and MKB Bank with 6.10% and 72.1% respectively.
