Pekao made a net profit of PLN 1,694 mil in the second quarter of 2023, up 261% when compared to the same period of last year. This implies a return on equity of 26.5%.

Historically, the bank’s net profit reached an all time high of PLN 1,694 mil in 2Q2023 and an all time low of PLN -543 mil in 3Q2022. The average profit in the last six quarters amounted to PLN 810 mil.

The bank generated its shareholders an average return on equity of 9.72% in the last five years with maximum at 26.5% and minimum at -10.2%.

When compared to bank's main peers, PKO BP generated a net profit of PLN 589 mil with ROE of 5.86% in 2Q2023, Santander Bank Polska netted PLN 1,147 mil(ROE of 14.0%) and ING Bank Slaski announced a net profit of PLN 1,099 mil implying ROE of 36.3%.
