Pekao SA made a net profit of PLN 1,054 mil in the fourth quarter of 2017, up 113% when compared to the same period of last year. This implies a return on equity of 18.5%.

Historically, the bank’s net profit reached an all time high of PLN 1,138 mil in 1Q2008 and an all time low of PLN 270 mil in 3Q2004. The average profit in the last six quarters amounted to PLN 582 mil.

The bank generated its shareholders an average return on equity of 10.9% in the last five years with maximum at 18.5% and minimum at 6.04%.

When compared to bank's main peers, PKO BP generated a net profit of PLN 820 mil with ROE of 9.16% in 4Q2017, Bank Zachodni WBK netted PLN 549 mil(ROE of 9.55%) and ING Bank Slaski announced a net profit of PLN 367 mil implying ROE of 12.6%.
