Historically, petroleum consumption as a share of worldwide consumption in China reached an all time high of 13.0% in 2015 and an all time low of 2.79% in 1982. When compared to China's main peers, petroleum consumption as a share of worldwide consumption in India amounted to 4.34%, 4.32% in Japan, 3.68% in Russia and 20.5% in USA in 2015.
