PKO BP made a net profit of PLN 820 mil in the fourth quarter of 2017, up 38.2% when compared to the same period of last year. This implies a return on equity of 9.16%.
Historically, the bank’s net profit reached an all time high of PLN 1,017 mil in 3Q2011 and an all time low of PLN 306 mil in 4Q2004. The average profit in the last six quarters amounted to PLN 744 mil.
The bank generated its shareholders an average return on equity of 10.6% in the last five years with maximum at 15.2% and minimum at 5.94%.
When compared to bank's main peers, Bank Zachodni WBK generated a net profit of PLN 549 mil with ROE of 9.55% in 4Q2017, Pekao SA netted PLN 1,054 mil(ROE of 18.5%) and ING Bank Slaski announced a net profit of PLN 367 mil implying ROE of 12.6%.
