Historically, price of cigarettes as a percentage of average U.S. price in Iraq reached an all time high of 13.8% in 2008 and an all time low of 6.90% in 2014. When compared to Iraq's main peers, price of cigarettes as a percentage of average U.S. price in Iran amounted to 9.02%, 38.6% in Kuwait, 49.8% in Saudi Arabia and 4.20% in Syria in 2016.
