Price of cigarettes as a percentage of average U.S. price rose 0.394% to 48.1% in Costa Rica in 2016, according to the National Statistical Office.

Historically, price of cigarettes as a percentage of average U.S. price in Costa Rica reached an all time high of 48.1% in 2016 and an all time low of 27.1% in 2010. When compared to Costa Rica's main peers, price of cigarettes as a percentage of average U.S. price in Guatemala amounted to 33.9%, 29.9% in Honduras, 27.1% in Nicaragua and 66.1% in Panama in 2016.
