Price of cigarettes as a percentage of average U.S. price rose 23.4% to 80.9% in Ecuador in 2016, according to the National Statistical Office.

Historically, price of cigarettes as a percentage of average U.S. price in Ecuador reached an all time high of 80.9% in 2016 and an all time low of 29.7% in 2010. When compared to Ecuador's main peers, price of cigarettes as a percentage of average U.S. price in Brazil amounted to 29.7%, 13.7% in Colombia, 66.1% in Panama and 48.7% in Peru in 2016.
