Rice production reached 4,700 kt in 2015 in Nigeria, according to Faostat. This is 30.2 % less than in the previous year.
Historically, rice production in Nigeria reached an all time high of 6,734 kt in 2014 and an all time low of 133 kt in 1961. When compared to Nigeria's main peers, rice production in Benin amounted to 215 kt, 183 kt in Cameroon, 261 kt in Chad and 34.5 kt in Niger in 2015.
