Historically, rice production in the European Union reached an all time high of 3,167 kt in 2009 and an all time low of 1,298 kt in 1965. When compared to European Union's main peers, rice production in China amounted to 212,142 kt, 9,986 kt in Japan, 1,110 kt in Russia and 8,725 kt in USA in 2015.
