Russian Agricultural Bank's non-performing loans reached 22.9% of total loans at the end of 2015, down from 26.0% when compared to the previous year. Historically, the NPL ratio hit an all time high of 27.0% in 2012 and an all time low of 1.78% in 2006.
Provision coverage amounted to 43.4% at the end of 2015, up from 34.0% compared to a year earlier.
The bank created loan loss provisions worth of 5.95% of average loans in 2015. That's compared to 3.59% of loans the bank put aside to its cost on average in the last five years.
When compared to bank's main peers, Sberbank operated at the end of 2015 with NPL ratio of 7.22% and provision coverage of 83.2%, VTB Bank with 5.72% and 116% respectively and Alfa Bank had 12.7% of bad loans covered with 51.3% by provisions at the end of 2015.
