Sales of passenger cars fell 27.2% yoy to 64.7 thousand in Italy in August 2021, according to ACEA. This is 41.4% less than in the previous month.
Historically, sales of passenger cars in Italy reached an all time high of 310 thousand in January 1990 and an all time low of 4.28 thousand in April 2020. When compared to Italy's main peers, sales of passenger cars in Austria amounted to 17.7 thousand, 88.1 thousand in France, 3.53 thousand in Slovenia and 16.5 thousand in Switzerland in August 2021.
