Sales of passenger cars fell 38.4% yoy to 14.1 thousand in Austria in January 2021, according to ACEA. This is 40.5% less than in the previous month.

Historically, sales of passenger cars in Austria reached an all time high of 51.3 thousand in May 1996 and an all time low of 7.68 thousand in December 1993. When compared to Austria's main peers, sales of passenger cars in Germany amounted to 170 thousand, 8.87 thousand in Hungary, 134 thousand in Italy and 15.1 thousand in Switzerland in January 2021.
