Sales of passenger cars rose 12.6% yoy to 203 thousand in Germany in April 2023, according to ACEA. This is 27.9% less than in the previous month.

Historically, sales of passenger cars in Germany reached an all time high of 553 thousand in July 1991 and an all time low of 121 thousand in April 2020. When compared to Germany's main peers, sales of passenger cars in Austria amounted to 18.5 thousand, 39.9 thousand in Belgium, 133 thousand in France and 35.5 thousand in Poland in April 2023.
