Sales of passenger cars rose 13.1% yoy to 18.5 thousand in Austria in April 2023, according to ACEA. This is 29.7% less than in the previous month.

Historically, sales of passenger cars in Austria reached an all time high of 51.3 thousand in May 1996 and an all time low of 7.68 thousand in December 1993. When compared to Austria's main peers, sales of passenger cars in Germany amounted to 203 thousand, 8.55 thousand in Hungary, 126 thousand in Italy and 18.1 thousand in Switzerland in April 2023.
