Sales of passenger cars rose 21.9% yoy to 133 thousand in France in April 2023, according to ACEA. This is 27.5% less than in the previous month.

Historically, sales of passenger cars in France reached an all time high of 293 thousand in July 1999 and an all time low of 21.0 thousand in April 2020. When compared to France's main peers, sales of passenger cars in Belgium amounted to 39.9 thousand, 203 thousand in Germany, 126 thousand in Italy and 74.7 thousand in Spain in April 2023.
