Sales of passenger cars rose 65.9% yoy to 2.22 in Iceland in May 2022, according to ACEA. This is 58.4% more than in the previous month.
Historically, sales of passenger cars in Iceland reached an all time high of 3.85 in May 2017 and an all time low of 0.046 in December 2008. When compared to Iceland's main peers, sales of passenger cars in Denmark amounted to 13.5, 11.5 in Norway, 26.4 in Sweden and 124 in United Kingdom in May 2022.
Iceland has been ranked 27th within the group of 30 countries we follow in terms of sales of passenger cars, 1 place below the position seen 10 years ago.
