Sales of passenger cars reached 835 '000 in 2016 in Indonesia, according to ACEA. This is 10.5 % more than in the previous year.
Historically, sales of passenger cars in Indonesia reached an all time high of 880 '000 in 2013 and an all time low of 58.0 '000 in 1998. When compared to Indonesia's main peers, sales of passenger cars in Australia amounted to 927 '000, 515 '000 in Malaysia, 133 '000 in Philippines and 91.1 '000 in Singapore in 2016.
Indonesia has been ranked 17th within the group of 139 countries we follow in terms of sales of passenger cars, 16 places above the position seen 10 years ago.
