Sales of passenger cars fell 49.5% yoy to 168 thousand in Germany in May 2020, according to ACEA. This is 39.1% more than in the previous month.

Historically, sales of passenger cars in Germany reached an all time high of 553 thousand in July 1991 and an all time low of 121 thousand in April 2020. When compared to Germany's main peers, sales of passenger cars in Austria amounted to 20.2 thousand, 34.8 thousand in Belgium, 96.3 thousand in France and 21.1 thousand in Poland in May 2020.
